Island HopperOh beautiful island. So far away in reality but so near in my dreams. Let me taste the paradise that was lost and the forgotten peace on this world. Surround me with the blue colors of the sea and let me feel your passion when the sun goes down. Oh island, keep my dreams alive. (Don Amaro)

You have surfed around the world? And you think you have seen everything? Maybe you have read how fast the ice is melting on the Antarctic. Or each day you read the local newspaper of Zaire. You look at the globe on your table and you say to yourself: "I have been to America, Africa, Australia, Russia, Europe, Asia ... I have been everywhere on the Net! ...."

Everywhere?? Take the magnifying-glass and take another look! Look between those big countries. Look at the oceans. Can you see them? Yes, those small dots ... The Islands.

They are part of a different world. It is a world full of adventure and mistery. Also beauty and peace. Remember the pirate-stories? Or those pictures of beautiful beaches? Your honeymoon on the island last year? ....
There is another world to be discovered on the Net. Sail the same route that Columbus took. Or that of Magalheas, Cook, Drake, Cousteau ... Make sail and take a journey through the Net. Search for the hidden treasure.

The Island Hopper is your map. It is the Net-port ** for the islands on the Web. The Island Hopper is a collection of links to various Web-pages that holds information about an specific island. Most of these pages are maintained by the islanders themself.

** Net-port = Site where you can start your voyage into the Net with destination to a certain country.

By the way ... do you know why they call them the Treasure-islands? Not because there is a chest of treasure burried somewhere on the island. Answer: The island itself ... is the treasure!

" Beautiful idea, wonderful site. Do not forget the Brazilian islands... Marajó is at the mouth of the Amazon river. Trindade is on South Atlantic way out in the ocean Fernando de Noronha is on the Atlantic, close to the corner on the northeast portion of Brazil. And let's not forget the Bananal island, the largest fluvial island in the world. Of course there are no sites, but if you really want to have some of them included on your site, I'll be glad to work some material to help you. Once again, congratulations on your work. Regards

Picture this: Your Personal Computer is your ship. The Web is the ocean. Your mouse is your rudder. The links are the stars that guides you. You are the captain. And you start your voyage. Sail from one sea to another. In search of the adventure, the unkown, the exotic, the paradise, the treasure. As a good captain you keep a log of all the things you have seen and experienced.
