| Reunion | Reunion island is a sister-island to Mauritius, actually the closest settled island in its vicinity. It is not much known as a country in itself perhaps because it is still a dependency of France. Yes, the island belongs to the French but it is located in the Indian Ocean. In many respects, it shares the same rich fauna and flora as Mauritius; its local language resembles the Mauritian Creol, its being a very slang form of French.
