Prince Edward Island Prince Edward Island is one of ten Canadian provinces and, with 130,000 residents, the smallest. "The Island" is it is known to those who live there, is located off the eastern coast of the country between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The major industries are tourism, agriculture and the fishery. The Island is known the world as the home to "Anne of Green Gables," a character created by Island writer in the early 1900s.
