Why Madeira Island?

Fajã da Ovelha

Fajã da Ovelha, is a parish located in the sunny south-west coast of Madeira island. It is part of the district of Calheta and the town grew around the small chapel, positioned on the top of a rock. It is believed that the Fajă da Ovelha is protected by Saint Amaro. The location is surrounded by forests, mountain slopes and the Atlantic Ocean. To reach it from Funchal, the capital of Madeira, you need to take the N-101 roadway to the west. Fajă do Ovelha is located between the two towns of Prazeres and Ponta do Pargo and right above Paul do Mar.
